Video Analyst

1. Pick a video to analyzePro

You pick one video from your Library and the Analyst opens on it.

Shortcut: ⌘ + ⇧ + A

• A video you recorded in OwnClip and a file you dropped in are treated the same. Dropped files are added to your Library first.
• You can keep working while it analyzes.

2. Let it watch and listen to the whole videoPro

The Analyst listens to the audio, finds the scenes and reads what is on screen before it writes anything. This one pass is called the analysis.

• The chip in the top bar reads Standard or Higher Quality (the larger, more accurate model). Click it to switch between installed versions or download the other one.
• The model runs on your Mac. Your video is not uploaded.
• The … menu holds Remove Analysis. It deletes the scene breakdown and saved frames, not the video.

3. Search the video or ask it a questionPro

You find the moment you want by typing, or ask a question and get an answer with the moments it came from.

• Answers need the Visual Understanding model or Apple Intelligence. Without either, you get the matching moments instead.
• Right-click an exchange to copy the question, the answer or both.

4. Make a finished video (clips, demo or ad)Pro

You choose a goal, review the plan, and the Analyst renders the video on your Mac. A render is the Analyst building the finished MP4 file.

• The right pane shows how many videos you have left this month.
• Product Demo and Short Ad can be narrated or set to music. Pick the voice and music in the options before you plan.

• Good to know: Pro includes 10 finished videos a month. Each clip counts as one, and only a successful render counts. SEO Pack never counts.

5. Save the result as a video, an editor project or textPro

Each result can be a finished MP4, a project you keep editing, or text you copy.

• The export menu offers transcripts as SRT, WebVTT or plain text, chapters, a moments table as CSV, and a report as Markdown or JSON.
• Export All… writes the whole set at once.

• Good to know: Open in Editor does not use up one of your monthly finished videos.

6. Write a description, social post, chapters or narrationPro

The Create group turns the same analysis into chapters, a highlight draft, narration and written posts.

• Promo Short opens Promo Shorts with your video’s best moments already in the scenes. See the Promo Shorts guide.
• Narration shows up in the editor as a voice track. The narration voice and the analysis share one model, so each waits for the other.

• Good to know: Everything here is Pro, except Promo Short, which is Studio.

7. Add the chapters to your videoPro

The Analyst writes chapters for you, and you add them to the editor as markers that export into the MP4.

• Merging keeps your markers and skips analysis chapters within 2 seconds of one. ⌘Z in the editor undoes either choice.
• Press Export chapter files… for a YouTube chapter list, a Markers CSV or a Final Cut Pro file.

8. Keep your blur boxes, cuts and logo removalPro

Productions and re-analysis start from the recording as you edited it.

• An analysis made before a blur box was added is not used until you analyze again.
• If you save a new blur or cut while a clip is rendering, that clip is discarded and no render is counted. Make it again.

9. Check whether a video looks AI-made (experimental)Pro

Experimental. The top bar tells you whether the file declares AI generation, and flags moments that an on-device estimate thinks look AI-made.

• Scenes that overlap a flagged moment are marked amber in the moments list.
• The estimate is experimental. Treat it as a hint, not proof.
• Videos analyzed before this existed show no chip until you analyze them again.
